    Drive "duration" from Start/End Date/Time?

Thanks Julie, at least you've validated what I suspected. Perhaps the wrong tool for the job. I've used your suggestions though and continue to forge ahead. [hammer]

    Drive "duration" from Start/End Date/Time?

I'm not a Project guru, so I'll apologize up front if this is a dumb question...... I need to lay out a fairly complex project for a go-live plan for a hospital information system migration. Establishing all the resource dependencies is an unnecessary effort and will take too much time. I'm...

I need dBase 5.0 for windows

Don't have experience with this company, but found them with a simple search...... http://www.emsps.com/oldtools/bordb.htm#db5dos

    Automatic Email

GWSend is actually a novell utility that allows you to create/send GroupWise messages from another calling program, e.g. C#, FoxPro are two I've used. It's at http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/tools/downloads/gwsend.zip. I concur with the other responders, I have never been able to figure...

    Help with code

I'm not finding reference to .prs files in my old dBaseIV books, but did see a brief reference on the newer dBase product site, so I'm not sure whether that's the right file extension for dBIV. I'm remembering procedure files as being .prg files the same as any other dbase program, but could be...

    Help with code

Be aware that in dBaseIV you had to issue the command: SET SQL ON to enable the SQL mode for executing a query like that. Then SET SQL OFF to turn of that mode. (At least that's what I'm remembering - it HAS been a long, long time.)

Way to publish a resource's calendar?

Marv, thanks a bunch for the tip. Hadn't heard of them before, but found their site and ph# based on your message. Appears GWExtranet will do exactly this (and more). A little pricey for my limited application though. I may have to bite the bullet on the cost to make this work if I can't find...

Way to publish a resource's calendar?

The search engine is down, so I haven't searched the forum (yet). Does anyone know of a way to publish the calendar of a GW resource account to, say, a webpage? (GW7) Looking to realtime update an Intranet page displaying conference room schedules. I've searched the Novell and Advansys sites...

    Change USB Permissions in Vista?

Greg thanks for the tip. That got me the permissions I needed. Unfortunately the issue required further work. Linney, thanks for the CreativeLabs forum link. There I found the fellow who'd aleady solved the problem and was kind enough to email me the lengthy instructions for the fix. Gotta...

    Change USB Permissions in Vista?

Greg, thanks for responding. I'm able to get to the screen to change permissions on the USB registry object, highlight "Everyone", click on the Full Control checkoff box, Read is clicked on (dimmed). When I click "OK", I get an Windows Security error "Unable to save permission changes on USB...

    Change USB Permissions in Vista?

To make my Creative Labs MP3 player work, I think I need to adjust the permissions for the EVERYONE group on the USB ports in the Registry. This is how I fixed the same problem of non-discovery under WinXP with the same device. However, my account which is the Administrator account seems to be...

    dbf to MDB

If the above idea doesn't pan out, you could extract the .dbf file using dBase so you could control the output to include the memo fields (if you have it dBase) to a comma delimited file and then import into Access.

    GW error 500 recovery

My network guy figured it out - you were on the money. His message to me: "the load command for Tomcat was REMed out ". Go figure, someone was troubleshooting and loading manually and didn't restore the batch file to it's original state. It's always somethin'. dennis

    GW error 500 recovery

Getting the following error after the server went down, on a NetWare 6.5 server running apache and GroupWise 6 Webaccess: Server error! The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your request. Either the server is overloaded or there was an error in a CGI script. If...

    dBase Code translation required

Note Mark's post offers subtle (he's too nice) clarification on an important point that was unclear/misstated in my post. That is, that the macro substitution returns the contents of a variable and that value gets used in the program statement in which it occurs. For example : NUM6 = 56...

    dBase Code translation required

Correct on the semi-colon. It is the statement line continuation character. dennis

    dBase Code translation required

One correction to my post. The "&" operator is referred to as the macro substitution, not just macro. dennis

    dBase Code translation required

First: DN3 = &GEARNUM2 This will create or update a string variable DN3 and set it's value to the contents of GEARNUM2. The & is the "macro" operator which returns the the value of a variable, and in this case I believe is unnecessary. GEARNUM2 has been created as a string variable with the...
