Can you provide me with the links for downloading the VHDs of both SharePoint 2010 and MOSS 2007?
Thanks in advance...

Hi All,
I am doing some chart generation in excel 2007.
I am populating a chart at run time using VBA. The chart is a stacked bar chart and can contain multiple series added via code.
i want to set one of the serie's "shape style" (that comes by default in the Format ribbon) to one of the...

Hi All,
I am in the process of designing the table structure for storing encrypted data. Encryption will happen on the application side (ASP.NET). We are using AES-256 to encrypt the data.
Have the following queries:
1. Should I use Varbinary or Varchar for storing encrypted columns? Am I...
Hi Rob,
As far as I am aware "No Fixes" for this mate :(.
One thing that you could do though is open the document in a different page. This will allow the users to still use the main page...

Hi Eman,
Why are you trying to disable the link?
If you still want to disable the link then a data view web part will give you better options....

Hi Jed,
DVWP is the way to go for this. Have a separate DVWP for each list, output totals to a JavaScript variable in the DVWP.
You can then use these variables to then calculate the totals and display them...

hey,
the first step is to create a web part that will display the links on which the user clicks.
The next is the page viewer web part.
Currently what webpart are you using to do the first task? The default list view? If yes then this has to be converted to a data view web part. Let me know...
this is very simply done.
1. Use a data view web part to list out all the details from your documents list.
2. Create an IFRAME (HTML tag) on the page, dont add any web parts for this. Give the IFRAME a name.
3. In your data view web part modify the document link and set its "target"...
>>I am beginning to think this mysterious behavior is related to the size of the list
Hmm,
I dont think this is the issue. However there IS a performance related problem in MOSS when an item count in a list goes above 2000.
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/34728/sharepoint-list-scalability...
Yes.
The PVWP is simply an IFRAME.

>>So why is the folders and the root of the site saying the user group has limited access and contribute when I am in site permissions?
The concept of limited access comes into MOSS when you give a person directly rights to an item rather than adding the person to a security group and providing...
>>Can I also create a static web page on the SharePoint server using any IDE such as DreamWeaver?
I would ask you to go with SPD as
1. As you are aware in MOSS all pages will have to fall under the Sharepoint Framework. SPD is the best to ensure that all pages adhere to this.
2. Not all pages...
>>Does anyone know if this is possible, or am I stuck with viewing all items?
yes you are stuck :D if you want to stay with default MOSS UI.
you do have the following workarounds (in order of preference):
a. Derived / Calculated Columns - See if you can create a dervied column in your lookup...
Hi Cath,
If I am correct there is an option to allow for multiple responses to a survey per user. If the user has multiple universities you can ask them to take it up again?

Hey,
