    Intermittent TCP/IP Connection

If NetBEUI is working - it isn't Layer1. You could reinstall the IP stack on both machines.

Need to print list of rules

You are probably looking for something like this: http://www.autodoc.ch/index.html?license=&version=&_LANG=2

    VPN ON NT

From a security perspective you are better to go with something at the perimeter of your network, like a WatchGuard product. You can have the authentication take place on that unit rather than allowing traffic in to your server and authenticating there. Functionally either will work. You will...

    Groupshiled stripping all attachements.

Whenever this has happened to me it has always been a dat file issue. That is if you check the version of the dat in GroupShield you will see 0's across the board. Manually update the dat and it should take care of it.

    Backup internet lines

You cannot use the optional port because you cannot configure a gateway. You might be able to do this with some kind of proxy between the optional and ISP routers. Otherwise, there are products that might do what you want... For example, a router using BGP, a Fatpipe, a Nexland Pro800 Turbo...

    SOHO Licenses

FYI... I forgot to mention, this info is for a SOHO 5 - I haven't worked with the 6 series so I don't know if this has changed. I assume it hasn't.

    SOHO Licenses

The SOHO measures the license in terms of unique MAC addresses. Everytime a packet heading outbound hits the SOHO, it logs that MAC. As long as the list of MACs doesn't exceed your license (25 in this case) you are fine. You can check how many MACs are in the list through the web interface...

    Watchguard FB 700 trusted port

The light should be solid. The amber/yellow light will blink when there is activity (for yomang). You may have a bad port, so call WatchGuard (sorry, couldn't resist). There are sometimes issues with the auto-negotiation and certain vendor equipment. Try plugging the interface into a...

    FB 700 Invalid System Disk

Take the video card out: not a supported configuration and thus voids the warranty... Call WatchGuard: if you have a bad board and the box is still in warranty, they will replace it... I suppose I could have been more specific with that portion of my answer. Considering I know nothing about...

FB 700 Reboots on it own

Check your logs for anything unusual. Also, make sure you have the latest software installed as there are some memory issues with some older versions of the software that caused memory leaks and freeze-ups.

    Changing IP schemes

Maybe a better understanding of what you have and are trying to do are in order... Are you in drop-in or routed mode? Are you moving hosts from the optional to trusted? Are you using 10.x.x.x/8? Is that a requirement? Any other details would be helpful. If the secondary network on the...

    Changing IP schemes

In Policy Manager, select Network => Configuration and click on the Secondary Networks tab. You can add multiple networks to an interface here. The FB will NAT for all of them.

    FB 700 Invalid System Disk

Take the video card out - call WatchGuard.

What Ports Need Open for VPN?

You will only need to open either TCP 1723 or UDP 500, but not both unless you intend on using BOTH PPTP and IPSec. Both are different types of VPN. That aside, there are also the corresponding IP Protocols that need to be allowed, mentioned in my post above. Did you check if the Netgear has...

    Power requirements for SOHO

The subscription is to WatchGuards' LiveSecurity. This gives you software updates, technical support, security broadcasts, and self-help resources.

What Ports Need Open for VPN?

VPN when properly deployed will provide your connections adequate protection, and it will also help you avoid opening additional ports. Not only does VPN allow you to tunnel information and not open those extra ports but it also provides confidentiality, authentication, integrity, and...

Watchguard SOHO or Cisco Pix 501

Not being real familiar with the PIX, it's hard to give a good comparison, however... The PIX certainly has a wider support base but I believe also costs more. The WG SOHO is a bit cheaper and IMO quite easy to use.

VPN Slow Browsing and file opening

Dial-up is slow to begin with however, check the MTU settings. Note, this is for IPSec tunnels... This is a fairly simple change, and you can do it on one computer. If successful, you can implement it on your remaining workstations that use VPN. 1. Download DRTCP, freely available at...

    Understanding Security

This would be better addressed in the General Security discussion forum (forum83). That being said... The VPN communication (tunnel) is encrypted and when done properly will provide plenty of security. This is only the transmission of the data. Consider when a home user is on dial up or...

Firebox II ipsec vpn to Cisco PIX

There is a nice PDF at WG's site that explains what needs to be done on both boxes. You need a LiveSecurity subscription to view this. If needed I can send it to you direct. Here's the link: http://www.watchguard.com/docs/4-6-Firebox-CiscoPix.pdf
