Thanks for the info. The Server side did not work. I will try the client side next week when I go on-site.

This will probably silly. I am new to Citrix. I have a user who connects to an Accounting package on a Citrix server. When he connects, his local HP LaserJet 6P is not his default printer in the application. He can change it in the app and set it as default, but it won't stay that way. Is...
Tried it already, no can do. Windows Server 2003 R2 already as the latest verison through SP1. I had someone look through the msi logs when we tried to run the install with logging turned on, looks like a conflict with SQL Engine. I am going to try to turn off all SQL instances and reattempt...
So I got my first R2 Server. I can't seem to load anything that is in .msi format. I have tried the support tools from the R2 CD as well as a third party app from a hardware vendor. Both start to install then roll back and say they failed, no error codes or anything. Is there a new security...
You can always look at an Enterprise (Server-side) Anti-Spam Solution. GFI makes one I use at many of my clients. It has been great for me.

If you got USB 2.0 in your systems. Check out http://www.high-rely.com
You will probably have to call the company to see what they can do for a custom setup. But I am pretty sure they can do it.

technome,
Good info there. The only problem, which I have stated in this thread already... The solution is not removeable. Have fun recoving your data after a fire or flood.
If you don't take your backups off site, you might as well not backup at all.
For a Backup Solution that does not...
Yeah, How much data are you looking to backup?
If you need a single DVD worth, look into Iomega's products.
If you need to backup data that won't fit on one DVD try this http://www.high-rely.com/index.cfm?action=products&group=8

How are you even backing up the whole IS? With 8 of these users Exchange hits the 16GB limit and its dead..."
I was referring to the 2GB pst after Exmerge has exported the data, thus removing single instance storage. The IS is not near 16GB. I only have a couple of users pushing the 2GB limit...
I started useing Exmerge as a brick level backup, along side Veritas. I have a couple of users who refuse to keep their mailboxes clean and corporate policy will not let me put limits on them either. Does anyone know anyway to get past the 2GB pst file size limit? MS website says migrate to...
MCSElord,
Yes I currently use these devices, they taken the headaches out of backup problems. Now, to answer your questions.
1. Yes, they work with Veritas 9.x or higher. They have to be configured as a backup to disk folder, which is easy to do. I use the 5-bay solution with Veritas at...
Tony,
Too bad the unitrends solution isn't removeable, or that might be a good solution. Backing up your data is useless unless you take it off site in case of disaster (fire, flood, etc). Hell the unitrends solution couldn't even be put into a fire safe.

Well price, but I am sure you already know that. The real difference is functionality. Veritas is much eaiser to edit a job that has already been created. Logging is better 10 fold. With remote agents, backuping up other systems on the network is faster and easier. Tech support is better...
Check out http://www.high-rely.com for an inexpensive disk-2-disk solution. They also have a DVD writer solution now. I have used the internal and external solutions and they work great with NTBackup and Veritas.

Sean,
With the High-Rely system, you just upgrade the media in the future when you out grow it. No need to replace the backup device itself.
I had one client start out with a 80GB 5-day rotation. When they added their Exchange and SQL servers they simply replaced the media with 160GB drives...
Look into backing up to disk. http://www.high-rely.com has a very good disk backup solution. I have used these at a couple of clients and have gotten rid of many of those tape issues that you have.
Not to mention that the price of one of these 5-bay solutions (which works like an...
