What is the main difference's between veritas back up software and windows back up utility. I am trying to justify to my boss that veritas is a better way to go.

Well price, but I am sure you already know that. The real difference is functionality. Veritas is much eaiser to edit a job that has already been created. Logging is better 10 fold. With remote agents, backuping up other systems on the network is faster and easier. Tech support is better.

Biggest downside is price, especially if you need a SQL and / or Exchange agent.

I have been using Veritas since the ver 7.5 days (1999), I really like ver 9.1. Job monitoring is better as well as the logs.
