Can you change the paper type on the printer for tray 1? Tell the printer that it is a special type of paper, whereas tray 2 would still be set as plain. Then tell all of the print jobs that you want printed to tray 1 that they need this same "special" paper. Whenever you try to print the...
I have a part time job (on top of my full time!) working in a call center (inbound only, I do customer service for Western Union) and the people that do "outbound sales calls" seem to be, for the most part, decent people. The make an hourly wage, but also get commisions based on their sales, so...
I know what happened. Instead of sending you the whole fuser, they sent you the heat and pressure rollers that go in the fuser. I would yank all your parts out, and send them back to the company you got them from with a nasty letter. If they refuse, which they probably will, then I would deny...
Yes sir! I was pretty sure you worked for redneck, as I think I have seen your profile on fixyourownprinter. How long have you been doing this?

JDWVW,
I went ahead and gave you a star for your dead-accurate help on this, even though I didn't post this thread. I work with the gentleman that did post it, here in Joplin. Thank you for your help on this!!!

Hi! I am working on a Dye-Sublimation printer for the local hospital that is giving me fits!!! It starts to print, then stops and gives a "Sequence Error 68" as well as a paper jam (Mecha error 5A). After rebooting, the jammed page comes out, but it has a crease on it. Also, the machine is...
Yes, I believe you are right. They all have the capability to do it, but it all depends on your configuration card.

Why not get a Xerox 8500/8550. Fewer consumables and initial price means a lower cost of ownership, and they print beautifully!

While they may be old printers, I know of techs that swear by them. The old 4 and 5's are tanks. We actually use that for our Service printer. As far as a ratio, it depends on the amount printed, and the capability of the printer. A 4300 will be able to handle more than a 4, because it...
I have heard of problems with the fusers on these. The fusers have an extra flag that is used to detect page size. If that flag brakes, the printer thinks that you are running a smaller size media (envelope pehaps) and will slow down to prevent fuser damage. This may be one area to look in...
The new printer that I installed is hooked up with a network cable, so I don't think that would work. Also, I don't know if their software would allow that. Thank you, though!!!

I just went and installed a Xerox Phaser 8550 today. Got it set-up on all the machines, and everything appeared to be working. Then the owner asks if this printer will print from DOS. I assume that it will, but here is the situation. They are all running Win XP pro on a small network. They...
For you to get sleep, maybe the printer needs some sleep...Is it going into "sleep" mode? If not, maybe you could change that, which may make it quieter.
Have a nice day today, and a better day tomorrow!!!
It all depends on the amount of printing that you do. If it is substantial, then DO NOT go inkjet. If it is a page here and there, then you might be better off with an inkjet, all though I don't like recommending those,as they tend to be junk. If you are doing a lot of printing, then I would...
