Based on your description of the issue and the power of Google, there appears to be a lot of posts on this topic, 90% of which point to an over-temp condition... (the rest were out of date drivers and BIOS).

Are the cooling fans running?

Same thing for CutePDF... No watermarks, no toolbars... You just print with it as you would any printer and tell it where to save the PDF file.

I was having the exact same problem as the OP... I tried many different approaches to fix it but the only thing that finally worked was to turn off fast indexing on the hard drives.
There really isn't much difference in speed when looking for something especially when you take into account...
You could give "Untangle" a try... It's a linux distribution that installs the O/S and app from one setup file. All you need is a dedicated workstation (PIII or better, if I remember)that has 2 E-net ports with one port connecting to your network and the other to your router so that all internet...
This explains it fairly well....

I agtree about the self-service option. When we have a failed disc drive in the morning, the replacement from the HP depot arrives via Fed-Ex at 2pm the same day. Sweet!

Remember... Google is your friend.... I found this article which suggests that after you eliminate the hardware, and since you re-imaged, the software, you could very likely be the victim of a rootkit.

My previous position was at a DELL site and I never had an issue with the hardware preformance or the support. I now work at an all HP site, and for what it's worth, there is really only one glaring difference, and its totally a matter of opinion.
DELL's DRAC (DELL Remote Access Card) is an...
TT2006;
From what I remember, your problem with Ghost2003 is that it doesn't have built in SATA drivers, so if you're imaging a machine with SATA drives, it all goes well until reboot time. When the machine restarts, Ghost2003 hangs because it can no longer "see" any hard drives.
For the last...
First off, if at all possible, remove the drive from the external enclosure and connect it directly to an internal disk controller (IDE or SATA) and see if the files/folders are back. Some enclosures are notorious for not working properly.
If you are still missing files,download a copy of...
You certainly can remove SP2, BUT BEWARE!!!
If any updates were installed after SP2, you must remove them in reverse order of installation before removing SP2 or you run the risk of changing a server into a paper weight. For a technical explanation, see the following...
Check the drive letter of the USB stick on a computer it works on. There is a possibility that it conflicts with a drive letter assignment on your stationary PC. If so, change the drive letter of the USB stick to a known un-used letter and then try it on your stationary PC.

The only thing I could find on several Epson web sites (US, UK and RU)that says if the print head on the LQ-2180 overheats, it will stop printing for about 5 minutes to allow it to cool down.
Epson states the duty cycle for this printer is 25% which translates into 2 hours of print time per...

Is it possible to try it with a different PC just to definitively narrow it down to the box or the drive?
And Marine - Thank you for your service, and God Bless.

Next thing I would try is to breadboard the MOBO. Remove it from the case, place it on top of a non-conductive surface and connect only the bare minimum - PSU, KB, Mouse, 1 stick of memory and the video card/monitor.
This will eliminate the possibility of the MOBO shorting against the case...
You say you replaced the memory... Did you use memory certified by DELL? I've seen perfectly good memory that worked fine in other boxes not even be detected in DELLs. This is due to the fact that they have proprietary motherboards and power supplies.
When you first reseated the memory were...
Always being one to point out the obvious, but seeing as how an old 20GB Maxtor has to be an IDE drive, is it jumpered correctly for use in your PC? If it is jumpered as a Master and you put it on a controller that already has connected, say, a DVD also jumpered as Master, you will get exactly...
Tony;
Never having used the INTEL controller myself, but being a veteran of Adaptec and 3Ware, you don't do anything to the new disk drive except screw it into the carrier and lock it in place.
The controller will automatically detect the new drive and do the following:
1. Format the drive so...
Ok. This thread is an example of why I love being part of this forum. We have people here who take the time to try to figure out a way to do the immpractical, the improbable and in some cases, the immpossible, knowing full well that it doesn't always come down to dollars and cents, that...
