Hipath 4K How do I convert a "free" Pen 2 "logged off" statu

Since they have not shut off my login yet I wanted to add one more note regarding your self serving comments and leave your sad ways. Why would I master a system that is out of production and fails any standarad support. Why would I support a manufacture that can't stand on its own as a...

Hipath 4K How do I convert a "free" Pen 2 "logged off" statu

I see that name calling is how this needs to be resolved, than so be it. On behalf of the myself and customer that has the junk 4000 installed I will no longer post to this section of Tek-Tips. I sick of hearing the complaints from other customers and contacts regarding Siemens TAC, Siemens...

MAX CAMERA LENGTH RUN RG59/U 95%BC CCTV 1M BX BLK HONEYWELL GENESIS

It looks like you have plenty of info to resolve the cabling issue. My comment is that who hired you to install the cable is fully responsable for the project. They supplied the design, engineering, material and scope of work for the project. They are responsabile to the customer and you for any...

    what do you use ?

I years of Maglight exposure has left me wanting more. I have found that the Maglight eats batteries even when not in use. I moved to a simple Sears’s brand that comes in two flavors. Both are yellow and have LED strength meters Green, Yellow, Red). One is a three d cell and the other is the...

    Trouble with newly run cord..

Double and triple check you connections. Try testing without any protection. Boy, I left myself open with that one. Repull the bad cable and add a couple.

    Cat 5 for 1000BaseT network

Just making sure everyone was paying attention. The other reason I asked about the 2 or 4 pairs is that back in the cat 5 days many installers were just that installers. Many even questioned why install 4 pair when your only using 2. Point was that they didn't care much if the non data pairs...

    Cat 5 for 1000BaseT network

Will your gigabit switch be transmiting over all four pairs or just two?

    Contingency plan?

I also suggest a cloud design. Have a pre set plan with that carrier so that within an hour your calls are transferred. Within a crash kit I would add a few items like pre-made cables for PRIs, a couple switch tails and a few tools like a flashlight, cuts and screwdrivers. Software wise I may...

    Cat 5 for 1000BaseT network

No guarantees but it will work. I have run it about 100 feet just to get a base line on funtion. I have don ethe same with cat 3 running 100BaseT, Again it works but I would not trust it in a production enviroment.

Hipath 4K How do I convert a "free" Pen 2 "logged off" statu

HP4KSME I can say that I have worked on a many of systems in my 30 years. I will not include the small hybrids, the fly by night PBX systems, but the larger main stream systems. I can say that the Siemens 4000 and the lack of documentation, is the worst I have ever experienced; (next to the...

    Pictures of ones artwork

It is acceptable to comb cabling within the MDF/IDF at short leaghts. CAT 6 has a problem being combed in a run as a whole, crosstalk. Check the manaufacture, they will tell you how much you can comb a group of cable,

How to create a second network point in a room?

I use the Hubbell splitter on both ends and have no proble running 100m over both. no messing with the terminations on the jack, just plug and play.

    Standards and Certs

I would first start with the manufacture of the cabling and jacks for what you have installed. Get all the cut sheets from them and ask about local training. If you’re in a highly populated area say Detroit (the suburbs not the city) check with the distributors or supply houses like GrayBar...

    Terminating Cat5e with A or B?

The standard that is becoming popular for small business and homes is 568A. This allows the center two pairs (blue and orange) to be used for two line phones and most splitters will split them out that way. As for data in the same application you can use either, but I would suggest using the...

    RCF vs. TFN

Do the National Toll Free Number and save big time. Than you can get call records of where your calls are coming from. If you are using a national carrier for your voice services you should be able to save more and if you have dedicated serive (PRI/T-1) you save again. How do you dial between...
