    Check DFS Status

You can see who has what file open on a DFS server in Computer Management -> System Tools -> Shared Folders -> Open Files.

    DNS problem

You may want to see if the server is registering itself in DNS, or better yet create a host record for it.

    .forward/aliases fail?

Thanks for the info. I tried what you suggested, both in submit.mc and sendmail.mc. I was able to get it to change the sender's domain but not the recipient. I set it back as I do want to know where the emails are coming from (system messages to/from root/adm/etc). Any further thoughts on this?

    Sending a pdf document??

You may also want to review your email clients. In RH5 linux there is one - "email" which allows you to attach files.

    .forward/aliases fail?

Thanks. I tried the access changes but that didn't work. From the log I can see that the initial message is accepted, the alias is determined, then the alias is determined to be invalid and the email fails. It appears to me that instead of relaying the email to mailhost it relays it to itself...

    .forward/aliases fail?

Hi, I'm running sendmail 8.13.8 on a RH5 system. This server (call it appsrv3) is set so it won't relay any email for other systems. I have it set up to use mailhost to relay to. IE email to testguy@ourdomain.com gets relayed to mailhost. This works perfectly, except for one (or 2) issue...

    User's Current PC....?

We expand on what Mike does by logging time, user, and PC. We end up with a log file for each system showing who logged on/off and what time. There is also a user file showing what PC they logged onto, the time, and the time they logged off. The scripts are defined as logon/logoff scripts in...

Backup Exec 11d Not backing up all mailboxes

The link I posted is working for me under IE7. Their forums are still active and are now Symantec's main support tool (FWIW).

    32bit vs 64bit

It has the same design flaws the 32bit version has. Support is the same.

    Monitoring Internet Usage

A couple other applications to check out: Websense and Blue Coat.

Windows 2003 Server Policy not working.

I suggest getting and installing the Specops GPUpdate (free) add in. With that you can easily force updates without waiting for the normal replication process.

    GPO links

Download and install the GPMC from Microsoft. This gives you better visibility and management tools than the standard tool that comes with the OS. When you create an OU only the higher GPO(s) apply. In a fresh install that would be the Default Domain Policy. You have to create a GPO and link...

SAS or SATA for Domain Controllers ?

The DL360 offers several SAS drive sizes. We went with 2 72G in a mirror. Lots of space and full redundancy. For perfomance you'll see better results by going with a x64 version of Windows and extra RAM.

    Remote Desktop

Try reinstalling TS and then uninstalling it. Maybe that will reset the files you need.

Can't RDP to client machines on different subnet but can with servers

Can you ping the remote PC? Try connecting using their IP address if you can.
