Hi,
I am one of those users that is having to learn as I go with Win Server 2003. Is anyone able to tell me if it is possible to monitor users internet usage from the server without having to go computer to computer?

Thanks in advance

What kind of internet usage? Mail, http, ftp, etc,etc... Is your server the default gateway for the clients? If not, internet traffic will not hit the server so you can

Use a proxy server and check the proxy logs.

I would say go with something like ISA Server if you have a decent budget and the hardware to run it on. Otherwise check out CCPRoxy from Youngzsoft. Very affordable and well reviewed by Network World Magazine.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark

Check out my scripting solutions at

SurfControl is another good one, but I believe they are in the process of being acquired by Websense.

shandar21,
If you haven't found anything yet take a look at these guys.

Its free, open source. Its not for your windows server though so this may not be of any help. I've played with it some and it works good.
