paw prints vs. pawprints

What is the context?

It is time for pacifists to stand up and fight for their beliefs.

HJ has a good question there...

if it is one older dude doing printing stuff, then I would assume that "paw prints" would fit the bill...

but if you are talking about tracks or tracking, then "pawprints" would fit better... (also my FF throws a spelling error on this one)...

and I have a another option for you: paw-prints

If Fingerprint is a legit word, then Pawprint should be also....

Merriam-Webster also shows 'website' to be 'web site'.

Yet it is never in print that way.

Maybe I'll ask someone at the jobsite today, or the job site if Merriam is watching.

I had a good search around the web before posting this question but couldn't get a definitive answer. I prefer paw print ( as 2 separate words ) but I thought I would consult you guys before getting a summons from the 'grammar police'.

Once it becomes a proper name you can do whatever you want with it. Just try not to confuse the search engines. I like it as two words as well, and maybe a paw logo inbetween them.

Crap, did it again. Is it 'what ever' like in the 1962 movie "What Ever Happen To Baby Jane?"
Or, 'whatever' as one word like the online dictionaries show?

I know you're serious audiopro, and hopefully someone will have a definitive answer for you, if there is one.

example without spaces:
If it were not for logo design this place's name could be read two ways. Pet's Mart or Pet Smart.

Ah - Mr Petsmart - Looks like you too are running the gauntlet of the internet police. It would be nice to know what is good and what is bad but as we are preaching to a gang of people who are confused by 'Jobs In IT' who think that is urban speak for an offer, perhaps we are stuffed!

Yup. Wired Magazine finally joined the modern world and decapitalized the term. Somewhere, of course, Berners-Lee is sobbing.
