I have an IP office 500 v2 with the latest version 6 of voicemail pro and the ip office os. When listening to the system attendant or anything involving sound on the phones or headset, the voice cuts out for 5 to 8 seconds. This did not do this on version 5 of the OS. This is a version 6 related problem everything else is the same. It is not flow control issue, I have tried 3 different pc's we have changed the ip 500 unit out twice. I saw someone else had this same issue but it didn't seem like it was resolved. We have a gigbit cat 6 lan with cisco enterprise switches. This is not a speed issue. The voicemail pro pc has no virus protection, no firewall, no screensaver, no themes no background working threads. We have gone to extreme lengths to ensure that there is no networking issues. I do not think this is a network issue only because the sound comes back after 5 to 8 seconds of waiting. This doesn't happen all the time. We even when one step further to prove it is not network related. I made sure that the only two items plugged into our network were the ip office and the voicemail pro pc. This problem still happens even if the they are the only two pieces of equipment plugged into the switch. I am at a total loss. I have tried everything I know in the networking world to fix this issue. I am hoping someone has some ideas........

Thanks in advance

Chris

Just one,

IP address 0.0.0.0
mask 0.0.0.0
Gateway 192.168.1.200
Destination Lan 1

No routre required for Lan 2 as it is all local and done automatically :)

ACSS (SME)
APSS (SME)

Make sure you clear out any other routes, especially any with 0.0.0.0 as address (except the default 192.168.99.0 remote access one, which can stay)

That doesn;t work I tried it already :((

I need to get access from the ipoffice 192.168.2.XXX to 192.168.1.XXX so I can communicate with the rest of my network.

Right now I deleted all routes I have no intent on using remote access route so I got rid of it.

Have you checked all the power saving option sfor the PC have been disabled Especialy the Hard disk spin down.
this can easily cause these sorts of problems.

I do not Have A.D.D. im just easily, Hey look a Squirrel!

Start with the basics.
Default the unit and use one phone and only the vmpro machine attached to it.
Leave everything else default.
If you still have the problem straight away then i would replace the ipo completely.

honey, i fried the IP Office !!!

I have anew unit since thursday still the same problem. I am going to try to start a new config from scratch.

Do you know, that there is a wealth of knowledge held by users of this forum. Some users have been in Telecomms for many years and some worked with the IP office since versions 1 2 and 3 (which believe me is practically stone-age)

What I don't get is your reluctance to run the simple tests that have been suggested.

Carrying out this kind of test is immensely useful, because it eliminates virtually everything except the PC, IPO and software and doesn't take much time (max 30 minutes)
Have you run a trace of this issue - sysmon, vmpro and Wireshark?
I will be suprised if rewriting your config solves this issue - I haven't known a corrupt config on an ip500, unless it was poorly programmed

Like as has been suggested, take the whole IP office off your network, plug in a hub or unmanaged switch and start from there. Bearing in mind that if this were a software issue, someone else would have heard of it by now, I suspect that it will work. If it doesn't - my next step woudl be to replace the PC with an older machine running a different OS like XP (yes - I know Windows 7 is supported)

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

So now you call me old? :)
I feel old then i actually am but that is a different story.

Just wait until she's 15 - then you'll be virtually pre-historic and you will have "completely ruined her life" <and flounce>

certainly does with mine - the only time she smiles at me is to get access to my wallet...

And guess what - it rarely fails...

Yes those sparkling eyes always do that :)
Perhaps i am going to teach her how the ipoffice works and then i take her with me to convince those stubborn customers :)

ok Matt is seems like I was not clear in my last 80 posts.

I have replaced the ipo on thursday like I had mentione 6 times on here. I know there are a lot of posts but I would have hoped someone saw where I replaced the unit last thursday. I have connected no phones just the ipoffice and the voicemail pro pc it does the same thing. So there is no reluctance to try anything. I have tried the most simple and basic concept and it still doesn't work. That is part of my serious frustration. I am truly sorry if you did not see my post about replacing the unit and just hooking up the ipo and the VMPro PC.

By replacing the unit does not mean that it is default.
We assume you have put in the config into the new unit.
That is why you need to be more clear :)
If that is the case then i would make some traces with the necessary filter turned on.

I am not going to try to compare resumes with anyone on here that is not my goal. My goal is to figure out why everything on this system works. Mobile twinning, email forwarding to iphones, voicemail, all my phone lines, leaving voicemail, changing messgaes, attendant, all the navigation keys, unified messaging, I mean everything works. With one simple exception. The voice cuts out on everything voicemail related for 5 to 8 seconds. This does not happen all the time but I can force it not to work by calling in on two phones at the same time and when the attendant comes on I let it run then I hit 0 to return to the beginning of the attendant and if I do it enough time back to back the voice dissapears like it is rewinding. I might also mention that it does it for the entire system. That means if someone at that moment is listening to voicemail or changing their message or anything voicemail "voice" related it cuts out for everyone on the system. I will agree it sounds like a network traffic issue. I have made it so basic it was on it's own switch ipo and vmpro pc and it does the same thing so it cannot be netowrk related. I will try anything that I have not tried before.

Did you run out of channels perhaps?
Normally you have four channels and maybe it is trying to use a fifth channel.
Normally it is not possible but it could be bug that it tries to take a fifth channel and that this causes a cut out???
I am only thinking outloud so i do not know if it is a bug or not!
Can you see in system status how many channels there are used when the cut out occurs.
