Yeah i can log in to the Domain Controller from the other servers including the new one. But when it looks for a domain controller specifically it says it can't fine one. Even though it's logged in to the DC. Just can't resolve the name from the IP. Trying to set up a test environment to...

I need to demote and then promote m

I need to demote and then promote my w2k DC due to a problem in DNS during installation causing a disjointed name space ("computername.domain" instead of "computername.domain.com like all others). I tried adding another DC so i could replicate and then demote the other but it...

    permissions and access to program

Matt thanks for the post. Just got back from vacation and saw your post. I actually solved it that afternoon. What i ended up doing was using secedit to modify the rights of the networked user (ran secedit when logged in as a domain admin). I had added the user locally to the power users...

I've installed quickbooks on a 2000 pro station as the administrator. When i try running the program as a user logged into the network it says the user account was created with restricted access to system resources. I can access the program as the same user logged in locally (with apparently...

Netfinity Server, Hardware RAID5, W2K and 4 Drives

I will be replacing the four (3 hot swap, 1 hot spare) drives with new ones sent to me by IBM. My question is, as i'm fairly new to RAID, if i replace the drives, configure RAID 5 for these drives (setting up logical drives etc as i need them), install the OS, and finally restore from backup...

    e-mailing from word or excel

On one desktop the user tries to send an e-mail of the word document but doesn't get the internal receipients (have outlook 2000 and exchange 5.5). Within excel you do get the recepients when trying to e-mail. It's only on the one desktop so i'm assuming i can run an office repair to fix the...
