    You could try a pci video card, also have a close look at your motherboard capacitors and look for any distortion don't want to appear negative but wouldnt be the first Epox board to go down with bad caps

    You wont be disapointed with a GTS I'm using one with an X2 and are more than happy can't comment on the ati card mainly use nvidia(yep to DX10)

    Perhaps an 8800gtx(640mb) most DX9 games like BF2 BF2142 WOW are base tested on nvidia 6 series vid cards so they preform very well with 8 series cards on high settings

    Most of the stock 8800 series cards are the same most use the standard Nvidia reference cooler design although Sparkle have a dual fan option I chose XFX because of their double life time warranty(most countrys not Aus) but you have to register the card within 30 days of the purchase date

    If both mobos have same chipset you might get lucky You could strip back drivers on current instal to generic windows drivers then swap out motherboards reboot and load new drivers you will have to reactivate, windows will detect to many changes(about half way though instaling new drivers)...

    Perhaps on the next reboot you could check the temps in the bios 1800+ cpus particularly palomino cores run very hot a hsf refit with new thermal paste would eliminate heat as possible problem
