I worked with Microsoft to work out my problem...here is the solution that is working the best.
Key items: strong passwords and turning of authenticated relay.

We have been able to try this technique...
Apparently, we ARE able to view the message in its entirety from another machine.
We are still perplexed as this occurs over various users laptops with no clear cut pattern.
Any other suggestions?

Windows NT 4.0 single domain (SP6a)
MS Exchange 5.5 Enterprise version (SP4 for Exch)Single organization, single site, single server.
Outlook versions: Outlook 2000 and XP(2002)

Intermittant problem, but high profile...

I don't have an answer except that there are definitely issues depending on the version of Outlook you may be using Outlook XP(2002) has the mail security turned on by default...there is a registry hack to tell the client system which file extensions to accept.

Change the scan mode in NAV to MAPI ONLY. The VAPI is what kills you here. I had this same issue. I did this in the NAV for Exchange console (web page) and I no longer have this problem. This is verified by Norton.

You say that you connect okay, but what are you receiving in the way of IP information (DHCP) Could be that process is screwed up and not giving you proper IPA,mask or gateway.
