    How to...

Shelby, If I remember correctly, that part of the install requires username/password information so it knows what account to run its services under. I sit behind a firewall all the time and actually make many services manual, so I always have used Admin accounts, but I think a regular user...

    Question about Motherboard?

It's kinda late for me right now and I can't seem the find the specific site, but I know there is a site out the motherboard based on the PLL/IC numbers that can be found directly on every motherboard. If I find the site again, I'll come back and post it... (or you can try to look for it. It...

600 Mhz Comp...BIOS questions, and CPU clocking questions.

CPU cache is basically super fast memory on the CPU itself (or extremely close). Disabling cache (although I never knew you could do that) would only lead to performance loss...

    Mobo, Memory, or PS?

You also can't dismiss that it might be a damaged mobo. I have one where there's a faulty resistor that caused the machine to reboot when there was tiny voltage fluctuations... (Hopefully its just your PS though)

    Loading a Huge Table

My experience has been that (a) (drop, load, index) is fastest. Since load is NOT a series of INSERTs, then its just righting pages of data at a time, without touching indexes. The index is then rebuilt at the end. And then you'll have to reorg in order to get your indexes clustered properly...

    Loading a Huge Table

Along the lines of what udbeeedba said, The "Not Logged Initially" option gets reset after a commit. So if you'd like to continue doing your loading with individual insert statements, disable autocommits: db2 update command options using c off

    interested in learning websphere

Yes, Websphere can be run on Windows. However, I don't have any specific numbers about whether its faster on Linux or not (My biased assumption would be "yes, its faster" :P). IBM also has 60 day (I think) trial versions of Websphere, downloadable directly from IBM.

    problem booting on CUSI-FX

Thanks for the tips, but after many many more hours last night, I finally found out that my specific board revision (1.05) has a hardware bug that causes non-coppermine cores to constantly reboot the system. The original board they release (1.03) did not have this problem. Although I've only...

    memory cooler ?!?

If your system is already running stable, then you probably don't _need_ to add any more cooling. However, extra cooling doesn't hurt anything, so go ahead and do it if you _want_ to :)

    Display problem, Please help

Many laptops have the ability to use software to expand the a smaller screen resolution to fill the laptop's screen. Most laptops I've worked with have this option in the BIOS. I think IBM Thinkpads also come with software for this. However, since its taking 800x600 pixels and expanding it to...

    problem booting on CUSI-FX

I have an ASUS CUSI-FX mobo, currently with BIOS revision 1007. Whenever I try to boot into any OS (using a bootable CD), the system starts to show some signs of booting (i.e. some normal, non-error text messages appear as the installation process begins), but quickly reboots itself. This...
