I spoke with a Cisco presales rep. He mentioned that the 2960 series switches are layer 2 switches, therefore they can't route packets from one vlan to another. He's unsure though whether the 2960 can have ports that can belong to more than one vlan.

I guess what I'm really looking for is whether these switches have built-in routing capabilities to route packets from one VLAN to another? If not, do these switches have overlapping VLAN capabilities...so that a server and/or user can belong to more than one VLAN at a time?

wgbecker...I had the same problem as you. I did some troubleshooting and it looks like the QuickVPN client can only connect if you're behind one NAT router only. If you're behind more than one...it won't connect. Still no solution to my problem...they have escalated my case as well...but so...

How does one monitor a BCM for alarms? Is it similar to a Meridian, where it simply spits out alarm messages on a serial port? Can it also send out alarms via SNMP traps? Does the BCM have sets of trunk reports that we can query? Or perhaps even better...reports that it can "spit out"...
