Using Linksys QuickVPN application I can successfully open a tunnel to the Linksys RV082 at my remote office. Once a VPN connection is established I can ping and administer the RV082 remotely. However, I can not ping any of the machines on the remote net and remote desktop connection can not find the remote machines using the machine name or IP. The remote machines are all XP pro with their XP SP2 firewalls turned off. The client and server are on different sub-nets.
I contacted Linksys directly (several times) without any useful assistance. Their biggest contribution was to provide me a beta firmware for the RV082 (1.6.5) that had no effect on the problem.
I know I could use another VPN client, but really want to get QuickVPN to work if at all possible. There is one thing I noticed that was "different" about connecting with QuickVPN as compared with other VPN clients. When I connect with other clients, such as Cisco's VPN client, once connected I connect directly to the remote site and lose all my local network resources. However, when connecting with QuickVPN I still have access to all my local networks machines. It may be nothing - or it may be everything....
Anyone...?
