Outlook template - blank when sent - help with coding too?

Hi I've been asked to create a template and I've gone past the various stages of controls etc, but have a few questions that can hopefully be answered around here ^^ 1: If I save the template and send to myself/someone else - it does not contain any of the drop-down lists or controls I've put...

    Username to PC script

Hi The system.txt file resides on the root of c:\ and contains all the data we would essentially require. I only mentioned it as it may make it easier to script something using this file - but it would rely on the PC being on, and on the network at the time. The file contains summary information...

    Username to PC script

Hi Can anyone help with a scripting thing (I don't know how :)) We have a list of users by "Full Name" and need this to be converted to their Username (possibly an exchange query here). Right after that, we need to use this to find out what their PC hostnames are. Basically, all our databases...

    Scripting

Hi Anyone know a good place to get a script from that can: Query a "full name" and provide the "user name" Do a network query to discover the user's PC. We use both NT and AD infrastructure, so will need something that could do both. I'm possibly not in the correct forum, so please advise...

    Admin rights vs. User rights

Hi again. Well, there's loads of CLSID entries for the Counterspy program and the HKCU area in the registry should be available to the logged on user - so nothing there. I have found a workaround for you - if at all practical...when the program is installed it uses only the current users...

    Admin rights vs. User rights

I've had great times with this type of thing, and normally, I'd use regmon - run the program and unlock the individual directories in the registry to allow the program to run as standard users. I've had to do this with plenty of programs, and some of them are quite a task to work out as regmon...

The only time I've seen this is when all the following have been true: Enlarged fonts -> display properties/appearance Screen Resolution -> 1024x768 (on Flat screen) -> 800x600 (on 17" CRT) DPI @ 120 (or more) -> display/settings/advanced Sreen refresh -> 75+ (Flat screen)...

    Change XP Driveletter

I had exactly this happen to me where the OS installed on to drive D: I'm not entirely sure how it came about, but during the text based install, it called my slave the c: and XP just assigned the next available drive letter (in my case it was D) to the "new partition" I had created. I still...

    Regedit "Permissions" greyed out?

Sounds to me like a policy may be in effect disabling the ability to change permissions. Use the Resultant Set of Policies MMC Snap-in to check it. Start -> Run -> MMC Add Snap-in Choose RSoP You could choose the Security Templates snap-in at the same time just to go through it. The only...

    Explorer acting up

Scan your system for BHOs (Browser Helper Objects) - toolbarcop.exe (www.download.com)Additional toolbars the likes of the google and msn toolbars and more can cause this. Then run a spyware/malware scan with Spybot Adaware (both at the same link)

    Universal Address Book Format ?

I'd get the data moved into an excel spreadsheet, and use save as and save it as a comma separated values file. Then import using that file. CSV is a standard format for address book. Potentially, tab delimited could be of use, but CSV "feels" more powerful (just an opinion). Hope this helps.

Fixed all but the date with Office 2003. Not concerned about the date anymore though, so it's all singing and dancing :) Thanks for all the help - learnt a lot about merge through this.

outlook won't open unless user is administrator

Had a similar issue recently. Resolved it by logging in as user, then using the XP Run As... command to launch Outlook as the administrator. Closed Outlook and re-opened as regular user. Worked for me... Hope this helps.

    Windows XP Home edition

Spyware/Malware most likely the problem. Get hold of Spybot and Adaware (both available at www.download.com) Run both on your PC and clean as advised. Most IE problems (crashes) are related to some form of spy/malware on a system. It can also filter through to other applications, especially...

    Never dial a connection

I've seen this happen in other areas where users were not administrators. It appeared that the settings had changed but when you went back in, they had in fact not. My first guess would be admin rights. It is likely to be user specific (being IE), but you may find changing this as an admin could...
