Username to PC script

Hi

Can anyone help with a scripting thing (I don't know how )

We have a list of users by "Full Name" and need this to be converted to their Username (possibly an exchange query here). Right after that, we need to use this to find out what their PC hostnames are. Basically, all our databases use the username (logically so), but we only have a list of Full Names. We are on both NT4 and AD and will probably need to query both.

We have system.txt files that contain both sets of information, but we have a rather large list and limited time.

The system.txt file resides on the root of c:\ and contains all the data we would essentially require. I only mentioned it as it may make it easier to script something using this file - but it would rely on the PC being on, and on the network at the time.
The file contains summary information like CPU, logged in user, hostname and bits of other information as well.

Can you eloborate a little more on what your actual need is here?

Are you looking to copy data from that file to some place else? Or do you want a way to get a list of login names?

What is the actual end result you are looking for here?
