    i think you should pop in at least another 128 of RAM if you can. XP will probably run, but with only a 20-gig hard drive your scratch disk space will run thin if you have too many programs running at once.

    i had a registry error loop that was caused by a RAM chip that wasn't seated properly. I know that's not really helpful to your situation, but it backs up the theory that it's possibly a hardware issue.
