    Terminal Server Printing question

Does it connect to the network direclty, or is it a local parallel/usb printer? If it is a network printer, on the server just add a new local printer, create a new tcp/ip port and connect that way. If it is a local printer, just share it from the locally attached pc and connect that way. Or...

How to change default localhost/exchange web link for OWA

If you use ISA server to publish your webmail it can do it for you. I have set ours up so that when a user goes to webmail.x.com.au they are automatically diverted to webmail.x.com.au/exchange. Before we deployed ISA server I had a default.asp/html that just diverted the user straight to...

Files set to Read Only when share is moved/copied

Have you tried robocopy? You can use switches to copy permissions. I don't think it would take the share permissions though, just the file/directory permissions.

    Exmerge Issues

I just had the same problem, I could run exmerge on mailboxes in the first store, but not any additional ones. This fixed it up http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q323546 You have to remove the inherited deny permissions with adsi edit (well I had to anyway) Good luck.

    Sharepoint DNS redirection

Hello everyone, hopefully someone can help me out with this. I have created a sharepoint team services site eg http://server/sites/intranet, I want people to just have to type in http://intranet to get there (and not see the real sharepoint path). I have created a dns record to point to this...

    Setting IPX/SPX as default protocol

Thanks for that. I had a look through but it only tells me what I already know. It says TCP/IP is the default protocol and that is that. Thanks for looking anyway. Frank

    Setting IPX/SPX as default protocol

Hello everyone. I need to set IPX/SPX as the default protocol instead of TCP/IP in XP Pro. I am using a VPN client that hijacks all TCP/IP traffic. If you try to modify the routing table the VPN software locks you out. I need to be able to print/use exchange etc on the network, so on my 98...

    NTFS OR FAT32

Times44 Have you tried it in another box? I have actually found it much harder to recover files from NTFS drives because the files that need to be recovered are usually in the mydocuments directory or a similar one which is locked out due to file permissions. Before you do too much more if...

Computer locks up when trying to play audio CD's

Does the cd rom drive have a play button on the front? If it does try putting in the cd, put in some headphones in the headphone jack on the cd rom, press play. If it works, then your drive is ok and can play the cd, you might want to check your system properties/cd properties and check if...

    Terminal Server Question

The version that I use came with Windows XP (Remote Desktop Connection), however It works on 95/98/2000. All I did was copy two files, MSTSC.exe and MSTSCAX.DLL. You then have the option under "Local Resources" to enable connection to local Disk Drives, Printers and Serial Ports...

    Terminal Server Question

On the most current TS client you have the option of letting the TS session see your local hard drives. This way you just save the Word/Excel docs to your local system, jump into TS and you can copy them to wherever you want. It is a bit messy, but if you are not talking about large quantities...
