Hello everyone. I need to set IPX/SPX as the default protocol instead of TCP/IP in XP Pro. I am using a VPN client that hijacks all TCP/IP traffic. If you try to modify the routing table the VPN software locks you out. I need to be able to print/use exchange etc on the network, so on my 98 boxes I set IPX/SPX as the default protocol and made the necessary registry changes for Outlook and all works well (VPN traffic over TCP/IP and internal network traffic over IPX/SPX). No matter where I look I can't find any way to change it in XP or 2K.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Frank

Thanks for that. I had a look through but it only tells me what I already know. It says TCP/IP is the default protocol and that is that. Thanks for looking anyway.

On the "View Network Connections" property sheet there is an "Advanced" option. You set the protocol and service priority on this page.

The Novell site has several discussions in depth on this issue.
