    Thanks for the suggestions. At the time, I didn't have either Excel or Word on my computer, but my daughter came to the rescue and installed them for me. So now O can sort to my heart's content. I've never noticed if I have that script in my ID. I'll have to check.

    soledadsister Where do you live? Can't suggest any course until that basic piece of info is provided. In the meantime, either join linda.com (great training videos) and/or buy yourself Adone's 'Classroom in a Book' or the relevant 'Visual Quick Start Guide'.

    Getting the absolute latest PPD for the printer is the first thing to do. Also, there is an option in the print dialog box "download PPD fonts" -- make sure this is turned on.

    Are the white lines still there when you zoom in close? Are they there when you print? Probably 'no' to both - they seem to be an artifact at certain views in Acrobat. Re the white bounding boxes.. done to death but still a nuisance. Make sure the transparent images do not have spot colours...

    Have you converted the EPS to AI? Let's back up a bit. Do you need to edit the text? If not, just save it as an AI file and place it in ID. If you need to edit the text, do it first in AI.

    I could ask the obvious question and ask why do the text in AI instead of ID to start with? But since you have, try copying and pasting, rather than saving as an AI or PDF file and placing it in ID.

    Once you discover the power of layers you will never look back, or have trouble selecting an object within a stack. Layers are your friend.

    Are you trying to keep graphics with certain text? If so, there is no need to draw an image frame first. Insert the text cursor where you wish to 'dock' (Adobe now uses the term 'anchor') the graphic, and place the image. It will now be inline with, i.e. anchored to, that paragraph of text.
