    if you set: "Enable hardware compression. If not available; use none." you won't get any compression if hardware compression is not available for some reason. Allthough the drive you are using should support hardware compression. Are you using the Backup Exec driver?

    I think by default the closest repository is chosen based by ping response. You could override this by changing this to user defined list. (I think it's under the agent policy page) Hope this helps.

    When you look at the deployement task, can you see the other software you want to install? For example Virusscan 4.51, or Virusscan 7? (and is it set to INSTALL?) I assume you have that software installed in the repository?
