You may also be able to reset the Messaging by removing the PC card for a couple of minutes and then replace it and wait a bit. That's the normal manner to reset a Merlin Messaging...
If you went from T1 to PRI without deprogramming the T1 ( setting all channels to "unassigned") it can cause some problems even if the protocols are correct. One thing that can correct the situation is to change the switch type to Merlin Network, then back to whatever you are using for the...
Another idea... depending on whether you're in setup space or 3-digit dial plan. If your adjuncts start with 7300, than you're in setup space. Setup space has some white space numbers from 7499 to 7699. You can renumber anything you're having a problem with to a white space number, thus taking...
If you're not using the router function they're basically interchangable; you can either activate the built in 3160 paradyne DSU/CSU, or you can use an external one. No addittional DS1 programming is necessary.
Here's another little CAVEAT to consider.
I have set these up to send "BASE NUMBER PLUS EXTENSION" and if those two things didn't match an incoming D-I-D that the vendor was providing, the call WOULD NOT GO THROUGH.
So, be careful of that as well."
I wouldn't worry about it. If it happens at...
Avaya provides that assistance routinely at the Tier II SME Tech Help Me level, where you'll bet better support, in general, on the Legend/Magix, than from Tier III.
Most PRI troubles are protocol problems, or synch troubles with the PBX(power cycled incorrectly).
Nine times out of TEN when we hear about this, the END USER has hit the POUND SIGN (to skip a message) TWICE, thus, skipping 2 messages.
Then they don't discover the 2nd message until A DAY LATER.
Thus, the voice mail is at fault.
Good luck convincing them......."
Actually... it's 10 out of...
they should.. I've done it with Cisco. The trick is networking the Magix to the gateway, not the other switch(at both ends, obviously), using PRI by setting the switch type to PBX if you want the Magix to act as the network, or to Network if you want the gateway to act as the network.
IS It Possible To input A did range in the dial plan routing table for example 230-260 strip and add change 270-299"
Absolutely! You'll need to match the ranges though... the first is a range of 31 digits, and the second is a range of 30 digits..
In any case, you'll need 3 dial plan routing...
The PRI programming info shown above is incorrect, though it is close. You've replaced a module for nothing. The biggest problem you have is in the network settings. Check with Avaya Tech Support, or better yet, call their office and get a service order and a tech on site, and they can save...
~deanmcc,
Throw away the hammer and call Avaya customer support at 1-800-626-2888 and get your problem fixed now. You've already spent two weeks of your time. Why waste any more?
~Don,
The "U" you were referring to stands for "upgradable". IF the card didn't have the "U" suffix, that is the warning that is probably is not upgradable. Next time, you might try it in the shop first, or give Avaya a call to make sure you are doing it...
You can get full documentation for the Merlin Mail(stand alone), or Merlin Legend Mail 007(integrated as module), at:
http://support.avaya.com/cgi-bin/gx.cgi/AppLogic+Elmo
I would download the user's guide, and the programming guide.
Actually, If you are using SPM for programming only, all versions, even the older DOS versions, are both backward and forward compatible, because they read their information from the switch being programmed. If you like the DOS format(my favorite), you can use even use it for programming on the...
Call Lucent Customer Support at 800-628-2888, and they can give you informtation for ordering the correct manuals, and also some helpful programming information. The programming information would be billable, but the information on ordering manuals should be supplied for free. They can make...
