Actually, If you are using SPM for programming only, all versions, even the older DOS versions, are both backward and forward compatible, because they read their information from the switch being programmed. If you like the DOS format(my favorite), you can use even use it for programming on the newest Magix switches. The only compatiblity issues are with WinSPM, which, for programmng only, you should have at least version 5, because it is the earliest Release that will allow reliable access to R1 Legend switches.
