What is the status light doing (the led above the power)? What you are describing is the unit is booting up. Is the fan running full speed and then quiets down to a lower rpm?
Can you ping the ethernet ports? Are any digital sets up and running?

Is there a Disconnect OSI detection parameter that can be set on the Dialogic boards via an API? Reading the datasheets for the ASM8+/GASM the OSI time period that is generated is a fixed value of 850 milliseconds.
Forgot to mention, when you are looking at the capabilities and preferences make sure the ATA DN is associated with a Pool or a line in the Prime Line setting..I think the setting defaults to I/C which is intercom. This might explain why you can only send faxes internally and not externally.

Agreed the ATA will not support VMWI. The GASI on the M50 will also support PBX VMWI. What you need to be aware of is there are 2 types of VMWI - PBX level which are approximately 90 V cadenced and CO levels that are 120 V cadenced. You need to check the specifications on the analog device...
