I've been running Arcserve 12.1 build 5582 for awhile now. I initially did not install the disaster recovery option. I would like to now. The problem is if I go to install/uninstall in server admin in arcserve I don’t see the option to add it. If I load the DVD and select my backup server as the...
If you use a GFS job with staging, you can set the staging to submit a tape copy job on hold if no media is found and this will allow you to add new media to the drive then just submit the job. Daily Inc will right to the same tape until it is full then switch to the next one when full. As far...
If you can get the server to connect to a state that you can connect to the network, then you can push the restore out from the Backup server. It will overwrite the current os setting and such.
You can also do disaster recovery but I don't think you've done the necessary steps prior to the...
I'm not sure if you can do exactly that, but you could use incremental so after the first backup it would only backup files that have changed or have been created since the last backup. This may make your initial backup large but all others rather small.
I have end user jobs that run once a week (5 in total, 1 or for each day mon-fri) each job contains around 15 end user pc's. The Job itself is running fine executing when I want and such the only problem is BEFORE I installed r12 sp1 any failed backups (say 3 nodes out of the 15) would be auto...
One one thing about DR with exchange, is that you have to restore the mail DB's after the fact, but it goes smoothly (atleast it did for us). I never had a problem with DR in 12.
Sorry for not being much help.
Could be I had multiple problems with the DB in 11.5. What is the current size of it? My advice would be to switch it to a sql in 11.5 or move on to version 12 as Sql DB is standard.
You could also run checks against the DB in command line. I forget the exact commands but you can find them on...
I just tested DR for for an exchange 2003 box. Did a complete backup of all partitions, system state etc etc. clean the HD and reinstalled. All partitions came back and only thing we had to do is restore the DB after the box was up and running and connect them.
W3984 Could not connect to ASDB protection agent on server *******.
I get this error when trying to backup my Arcserve server. I can't figure out how to resolve it. This warning shows up right at the beginning of the job, but the job completes with not errors. Why is this?
r12.0 (Build 5454)
Have you tried to stager what time the jobs write to tape? ie tape job ends at 1. start 1st migration at 1:10 secound at 2 (or however long the 1st one ussually takes)
When you expand a server that is not selected to use the again to select which drives are the $c $d or c d? When I do a job without an agent it only shows the shares and not the "true" drives. But I could be wrong.
