Another suggestion regarding AV configuration is don't use network scanning. Norton AV is the only major brand that sets this by default. Upping your RAM to a gig on the workstation may give better performace as well.

Have you solved this yet? The only thing that I can think of that would cause this would be that the screen resolution on that workstation is set too low. I suppose it could be registry damage of some kind but I would expect it to manifest itself in other places other than that one control.
