When I try use the find (or replace) feature in Word 2000 a new instance of Word seems to open and is displayed in my task bar.
While the find dialoge box is open the second instance is blank and has no menus or even a title. When the find dialoge box is closed the second document window remains open but it mirrors whatever word document is open at the time (the task bar button remains Title-less but has Word icon). If all Word documents are closed the "find instance" window closes automatically too. Otherwise this new instance cannot be closed.
Find replace works fine in Excell. Word did not always do this could this be a setting problem?
Please any help would be appreciated.
