ever since we upgraded to version 4 (we are on 4.1 currently) mas90 has been very slow. our setup is the following
single user
mas 90 data stores on a ms windows 2000 adv server 2 gig ram, quad xeon
the client roams from 3 different pc's ranging from a 700mhz p3 to a 2.4ghz p4 the lowest amount of ram any have is 512 meg.
100mb network
i have been trying to figure out why forms are taking over 10 seconds just to load when i decided to sniff the network. it seems that there is a very large amount of data being transfered over while the forms are loading up. I know we are running this with just a flat file format and i am very curious as to why it is so slow and a possible solution. currently the only thing that i can think of that might be causing this is fragmentation of the data in the flat files. this would cause the data files to be large and also slow down loading. if this is the case is there a way to repair/defrag these flat files?
any help would be greatly appreciated on this.
thanks
