There is no way to directly connect the SIP/MGCP phones to IPO. But you can still get them to work. Use asterisk and oooh323 to create a proxy/translater. There is two ways to do it, H.323 third party end point or use a T1/PRI connection. I would suggest the PRI route as we are currently looking...
Mike Duncan, can you please put your conf files up so that we can look at them and i can figure out what we did wrong. We even bought a third party license.
Thanks for the info. We want to use MS Communicator instead of Phone manager (some of us are already using Win XP64 and the tapi driver for IP office is only 32bit). the LCS documentation is not the best (contact you PBX supplier line). any suggestions?
crashtest1000 can yo supply part numbers for these new vcms? and do both have to be the new style or can you get the performance of changing just your main IP office unit (when used with other IPO units)?

No PRI needed (have one), no VCM (central to current unit) and running POE switch so no PSU for 5610s needed. Doing the install myself as I am certified. I just feel that I am getting hosed by the local dealer as cisco equipment is not looking much more expensive.
I need to purchase IP412, a 30 port DS, a 16 pots, 14 X 5410 phones and 8 X 5610SW ip phones.
They need to be shipped to Alberta Canada.
I'm making sure my local dealer is not gouging me.
Had the same problem with 3.040 and it has not reared its ugly head with 3.044
You can watch the VCM in system monitor. Filters > trace options. select SYSTEM tab and check on the development tracing.
