Thanks Brontosaurus for asking the right question. it forced me to think along the lines of domain name, org name, email smtp address space. I realized that i had a DNS realted issue. it now works and I can send receive email from mailboxes hosted on diff e2k servers with same smtp address.

I believe You would need to check with your service provider, if your domain name say: foobar.com has only an &quot;A&quot; record or also an &quot;MX&quot; record. Your service provider would need to add it for you so that the other SMTP machines know where to route emails to your domain.
