Just be careful where you install the client on the server. You may want it in another directory. One reason for not putting the client on the server is for security reasons.

Don't know about Win XP. In the past I found that if a user's HD space is <50 MG free then RBofD occurs. Also if your users have less than 128 MB of RAM you will have problems.
The cache.dsk may be in use while the server is running. You may have to bring down the system to do this. Depends on what version of Domino and what OS you are using.
