You can setup GW to send a report to GW Admin that lists all the emails incoming and outgoing vai the GWIA. I dont believe this reports on internal mail transferred via the MTA. If you go into NWADMIN, details, Optional Gateway settings and change Accounting to Yes.
This will email you a list...
Does it clear the connection at the same time each day? I noticed 2.59pm. We use the connection watchdog to log some users off at 10pm.
Check out the tid:

I agree with Ken. But try just deleting the users DB file once archived, send the user a message from NWADMIN (I assume you are using 5.x) and that should re-create the user a new DB file, and the user will have the same FID. Then they can move mails back if they want to.
Or maybe restore the...
Thanks for the responses peoples. In light of this we are rolling it out to the rest of our 17 NW 6 boxes. If we see or get anything adverse will let you know.
Cheers,
Paul
We are patching all our Netware 6 servers to version 3.0b of NSS to fix some serious NSS errors that we were getting and a few other log issues. We have been reccomeneded this path by Novell and we tested on one server and it has fixed our problems immediately.
My question is has anyone else...
I think you are right. Plus dont you still need write rights when accessing the Archives when you view them. I think we ran into a problem where the user could not open their archives because they had lost their write rights - right?
You get this same problem with Lotus Notes as well and we just had to advise the person sending the mail to send as plain text. Its a pain but no other way around it.
You can go to Access Control for the GWIA and limit the size of smtp incoming and outgoing mail. Set it to 5mb and this will stop the 40mb files coming through. This will stop those huge mails coming in and maybe make the user split it down. But still a few hours to send a 40mb file seems a bit...
We are trying to email to a domain called premiumchoice.info
The actual email address is rcarter@premiumchoice.info but whenever we email that address we get a Delivery Failure saying that:
Can't Interpret host name, or non existent host.
The email is getting out of our GW 5.5 system and is...
Cant say that have seen before but have you checked:
1. Effective rights to that folder for that user. I know its their home drive but make sure that the user has rights to that area.
2. Check the Environment options for File locations and see if mapped via drive letter. Normally a drive letter...
Has anyone had much to do with IBM servers? I come from a Compaq background but have an IBM x440 that has on onboard GIGABIT ethernet card that I am trying to find the slot number for as NW6 does not pick it up on installation. Anyone got any clues? I have checked in the BIOS - nothing. Even...
What operating system is the PC? If you cant login and the banner to log into Novell keeps coming up I would then assume it is Windows 2000 (Windows9x would bypass the login if it could not find a server).
If possible tick the button that says log in locally and if you know the local admin...
Has anyone seen the correct device driver to load on Netware 6 for IBM Ultrium TD1 tape drives for Arcserve 7 for Netware?
IBM does not support them under NW but the drives are listed as Supported on CA's site.
Anyone seen any? Just use NWTAPE?
The PC that reboots is on 100mb Ethernet, server is on Gigabit, but we have a mix of (ready for it) - Gigabit ethernet, 100mb ethernet, 4mb Token Ring, 16mb Token ring, 100mb token ring, ATM switches, routers, switches etc etc etc - lots of work let me tell you!
Found a TID 10065942 - fixes the problem but then we cant run our clients very old and soon to be phased out ccMail.
Then there is also the new problem of Windows 2000 boxes running on Token Ring that keep losing their connection to the server and hav to reboot. I will investigate those others...
Just upgraded to NW6, SP2. No majors dramas till the enxt day. Some users are running W2K, 4.83sp1 client on a Compaq Evo box. You boot the PC and try to login to Novell and the PC reboots. If you click on the Tree to browse the PC reboots. However, if i move the PC to another network segment it...
Gillis,
Do you have non NDPS printers installed as they will take up a licence. If you are using queue based printing to a queue based print server that may chew up a licence as well.
