Are u on a domain? if so then ask your admin about it as there may be a policy disabling your desktop & Time properties dialog boxes! Or first try your registry at:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\PoliciesExplorer]
Value Name: NoViewContextMenu
If that is set to 1...
Have you patched your server & workstation with 2000sp2.
If not, you should.
If that still does not work try starting the DNS service on the server and then typing the DNS ip address on your workstations. That seemed to work for me.
Good luck anyway!!!
This does seem like a hard nut to crack and i can't think of anything but upgrading the bios!!! have you tried that yet? If not do so. I had something like that(not exactly but close) and the bios upgrade did the trick for me.
Good Luck !!! ;)
Scandisk, yes it can sort out a lot of basic H/D problems but if you think that your still having trouble after running it then its time you bring out Norton Utilities (DiskDoctor) and scan your H/D with that funky little tool!
I find it can fix problems on my PC when i didn'nt even think i had...
I think I know what your trying to do !
What you could do is use "if mediaReady" or "frameReady".
I have not done it my self for ages but it goes somwthing like this:
e.g. In frame 9
if member(1).mediaReady then
go to frame 10
else
go to frame 1
end if
Check the syntax...
I've always deleted as many of them as i can (in Windows) by just selecting them all and hitting DELETE. The ones left over are usually currently in use (proberbly by outlook i.e. Word).
Close all apps and then you should be able to get rid of all of them.
Hope that helps !
I've never done a CD but shouldn't be ok if you just export a projector from your .dir file and stick that on the CD !
Hope that helps
P.S. If I'm wrong please tell me why !
No i don't know. But, if it's clear after you look inside
then I'd say its one that cannot be replaced unless your willing to use solvering iron.
Good luck dude !
The RAM is a very good place to start, but if the problem stays, I recommend going to msconfig (start>run>msconfig>ok)
go to the startup tab and untick any programs that you don't need to run at startup. You should untick both "loadPowerProfile" entries to start with (there not...
I've had this a few times, the best thing to do (if you hav'nt done it already) is uninstall the dial-up adapter and tcp/ip and then restart and simply install them again.
If that does'nt help check what Roger said (what protocal to use).
Hope that sorts your problem :-)
After logging on to my win2k server(from win98)using RRAS I cant see anything in NetWork Neighborhood apart from my self. I can see my domain after going into Entire Network but still no server(& yes i have installed client ActiveDS).

I have no idea whats happening. Everything seems to be working fine but it just wont answer any calls. I able to go out on the net via the modem on the RRAS server so I'm sure thats not the problem. When I try to dial-up I get this message " The computer you are dialing is not answering...
Well I'm now convinced u have a 66MHz bus MB and the chip you've put in is either a 100MHz or a 133MHz.
The only way to sort your problem is to get hold of an older RAM chip (66MHz).
Have fun.
Check the speed of the chip your putting in.
You should find that its to fast for your MB (66MHz, 100 or 120 ). I think u might have the slowest.
Hope that will help.
Is it possible to loop swa or MP3 files in a movie while its still running. Looping wave files is ok there but too big for my project.
