Yes it is possible if he tells windows2000 to use the new hard disk when installing. Once in windows2000 you will be able to read the files on the 98 FAT32 disk. But it will not work the other way around. If you are on windows98 you will not be able to read the 2000 NTFS disk. Hope this helps...

Well i would think that there is something else in the error.log that you are overlooking. If not then the only thing i can think of is that it cant write to the pid file? Hope This Helps Brett

I am using the debian version of proftpd, i suppose i will have to downlaod and compile proftpd. Will the passwords in the database use MD5 encryption?

For first one I want the user to be able to do pretty much everythiong he can normaly do except i dont want him to be able to leave his home directory. As for the /dev/null I have edited the /etc/passwd file and set it to /dev/null but the user cant login to the FTP
