Is there an easy way of creating a sep log file for each 24hr period rather than 1 huge file?

There is a separate app that comes on most RedHat distributions called logrotate. It'll handle archiving the old logfile, creating a new logfile and HUPping Apache to use the new, empty file. It can gzip the old logs and has functionality to keep only so many old logs on hand.

Heh i just did this the other day. The app i am using is very good it has many options for how you want to seperate them.
