I'm not shure that I understand your problem correctly.
But when inserting screenshots using anchored frames I often use special paragraph formats defining all horizontal and vertical spaces.
For example define a paragraph format "Picture" and give it the desired spacings. Then always insert...
I don't know a Frame-function for this. As far as I know Frame's page numbering mechanism doesn't work like the paragraph numbering mechanism - there are no different counters within page numbering.
The problem is: how to make references (eg. "see xxxx on page yy") with those multi counter page...
Try to fix a frame above the paragraph. Such frames are stored as "named frames"on the reference page "reference" and fixed to any paragraph style using the "extra"-section of paragraph definition (frame above / frame below).
Excuse: I have the german FM-version running. Maybe some terms are...
Not automatically, I think.
But "empty pages" at the end of a chapter do not change very often, even when the project is finishing.
In this case I would create a special "intentionally left free" master page - with all the text you want to see on this master page. So if you realize that...
Another suspicion: do those "broken links" use different character formats (italic, bold, other colors) than your ordinary text?

Reading this there may be two problems:
1. Replace your "TAB" between <$paratext> and <$pagenum> by "\t" (=Backslash and t) on the ref pages. Sometimes - I don't know, under wich conditions -, framemaker acts a little bit unconventional.
2. Did you define/change the...
Did you try to save the files as "Maker Interchange File" (MIF)? Some Updates for Version 7 would not be taken into V6-Dokuments - but normally that should work.

Yes: I often use another method.
I create a "Variables" document with several named text frames. These text frames you can fill with any text at any length - paragraphs included.
Afterwards you can import the content of a specific text frame referenced by its name in other documents...
The fastest way to open alle files of a book is to select the book window, pressing the SHIFT-Key and then opening the Files-Menu. The "Open"-Command is now displayed as "open all files of the book".
The same procedure can be done with "save all files of the book"...
> Also... do you check the SPREAD feature?
Yes, there is a small script that came with your InDesign installation CD. It's called "BuildBooklet.scpt", and you should copy it into the folder "Scripts" of the main Indesign Folder.
After that you (re)start Indesign, open your...
Hi,
assume I have some paragraph formats P1, P2, P3 numbering paragraphs as 1, 1.1, 1.1.1 etc., using numbering cycle "E:<n>....\t" Otherwise I have a "Main Text"-Format called M, with no numbering, and a "Bullet Text"-format called B that marks paragraphs...
Another possible solution:
- Make a file of every section
- create a new book and insert all section files in that book
- now you can print singular files by right clicking the files in the book, without regarding or entering any page numbers.

Tahila,
you're right: I checked it out.
Please try the following:
- open the document where you want to insert boxes with default runarounds
- Verify that no object is selected
- Open the runaround palette
- select for ex. the second icon
- enter 2/2/2/2 into the fileds
Now select a...
Yes, I know what it means, but for the hell I don't know what means "Druckbogen zusammenhalten" in English.
To solve the problem, select the page with the square brackets in the palette window, click the right arrow in the upper right corner and remove the check from the 11th item...
I think that this problem often occurs when pasting text from the clipboard - InDesign uses RTF formatted Text when pasting.
What happens if you select the affected text and option-click to the appropriate format name in the paragraph-palette? If this format has a plus-sign behind its name...
Hi Tahila,
Everything you specify when no special object is selected is taken as default.
For example:
If InDesign is running wtihout any document open, then all parameters you enter in the palette windows are taken as default values for all documents.
If a document is opened in InDesign...
I'm not quite shure about it, but try the following:
Start creating PS-Files from a book
If FrameMaker asks you for the filname to create, enter * (asterisk) instead of an ordinary filename
I think that now all files contained in the book are generated as single PS-Files.
Thomas
I don't have any solution to this problem till today. If I'm very angry about this - and shortening of these awful long headlines isn't possible - I sometimes select the whole text in the TOC-File and convert it into a suitable table.
One manual entered command - and the problem is solved.
:-)...
Hi Lucas,
on importing some files, FrameMaker will offer you three options regarding the import type:
> reformat with formats of actual file
> import as standard text
> leave as it is.
The first two options actualize variable definitions from the target file. The third option takes variable...
