Automate creation of PS files for book chapters

Can someone recomend an EASY and inexpensive way to automate the creation of individual PostScript files ( for PDF generation ) from the chapters in a book?
I have investigated scripts, but I am not sure they will work. I they do please recommend one.

I'm not quite shure about it, but try the following:

Start creating PS-Files from a book
If FrameMaker asks you for the filname to create, enter * (asterisk) instead of an ordinary filename

I think that now all files contained in the book are generated as single PS-Files.
