Yes, weve setup a simple copy command to run once a day off the NT scheduler.
Dont remember this problem in version 6.x. Nice to see CA introducing new features [wink]
Thanks

Hi all,
Using Arcserve 2000, we noticed that our job logs (J000xxxx.log) were disappearing and have recently discovered the "DB Pruning" job to be the cause. For example setting the Database prune job to remove records older than 28 days also caused any job logs older than 28 days to...
Hi
This seems to be a common problem with the Arcserve Agent. Lots of reports of this on tek-tips but as yet no fix. It appears the system process is listening on port 6050 and this prevents the Agent from starting. You can verify this by running "Client Agent Admin" and check the...
Hi
I have the same problem on two servers. It came about because the hardware was changed on both machines and the SCSI controllers in particular are now different.
No idea why its happening though!

Hi
In Windows XP, does anyone know how to disable the scroll buttons that appear on the taskbar when more than 10 or 11 applications are open simultaneously.
I know that applications can be grouped but I find it annoying that I need to 'search' for windows or applications. I downloaded TweakUI...
Likewise. Im sure there are lots of people whose lives are a misery due to Raima/Velocis on Arcserve. Mine is around 7GB and the checking utils cause more damage than good.
MSSQL costs of course.
It would be great if MYSQL could be used instead.

One other question on this subject.
CA recommend running DBCHECK once every week and DBFIX every two weeks.
Since they both take ages to run, why not just run DBFIX as it does the checking anyway?
In other words, what's the point of running DBCHECK when you need to run DBFIX anyway to fix any...
Yes, Ive done all that but the Modify options only allow me to change the backup type (Full or Off) and the Execution time. I need to change the day on which a Weekly backup is run.
Thanks
Hi
Ive just set up a new job that performs a full backup every day using GFS. To setup the job, I selected the predefined scheme of "7-day Weekly Full Backup, with GFS Enabled".
I'd like to do the Weekly / Monthly backups on a Sunday, but they default to a Saturday.
Any ideas how to...
This is something I've been thinking about a lot.
What you need do do is run a GFS Prediction Report before each backup (say at 5pm). Im a big fan of scripting and automation so I would ultimately like a prompt/popup message if the correct tape is not loaded. There is a file in the Arcserve...
