It means updating the BIOS version. Leter versions of BIOS have bug fixes and can support new technology (eg. bigger hard drives, more RAM) better.
Kind of like a service pack for Windows or a game patch.
Yeah, get a 2.5" to 3.5" adapter. You can also get 3.5" to 5.25" adapters if you need to get a new hard drive or 3.5" floppy drive, but you only have 5.25" bays left.
(Comon, what kind of PC manufacturer would give you more 5.25" bays than 3.5" inch...
I agree. Try reinsatlling Windows 98.
Also, those internet programs usually cause problems themselves unless you use a 'one-time' program (eg. one that scans registry and deletes not-needed items, then you can delete the utility)
Another thing, try disabling your anti-virus program. That may...
I had a compaq presario....and the HD was only 518MB so it couldnt take windows 98...
I assume ur machine is similar to that...if it is u shouldnt have upgraded in the first place, the PC cant take it.
My machine is late 2000, and it runs fine with 9.0b...and it has Windows 98SE.
Maybe they havent tested it properly with the original Win98...
Use microsoft help if possible
ntfs.......thats a file system...perhaps you need to reformat. u can backup data with 256MB, then install the new RAM then reformat.
