    Athlon XP system locking up

Ok, I assembled a system using a Soyo Dragon Plus, Athlon XP 1900+, 512@266 DDR, GeForce2MX440, and I can't get past the boot menu on a preexistatn windows xp install neither past the post-driver loading on xp install disk. Tried underclocking, tried underclocking memory, tried disabling onboard...

    Screen Anomolies

Try another card on the new system, maybe your AGP slot is faulty. I don't think so, though. This really is strange, because the symptoms you describe are the symptoms of overheating memory from overclocking. Perhaps things are just too hot inside your new case.

    Screen Anomolies

Overheating... Try getting coolers, fans etc for your card or replace yours... they might be defective... Athlon XP 1900+ MoBo Soyo Dragon Plus 512MB 266Mhz DDR RAM GeForceFX 5200@325Mhz core/700Mhz memory Samsung 60Gb 7200RPM HDD

    Screen Anomolies

Test the card on the system it used to work in... Screen garbage such as random pixels often are a symptom of card memory issues. Athlon XP 1900+ MoBo Soyo Dragon Plus 512MB 266Mhz DDR RAM GeForceFX 5200@325Mhz core/700Mhz memory Samsung 60Gb 7200RPM HDD

    Cyclic video hiccups

Hmmm.. I'll check into it, but I doubt that, since with my old GF4 this didn't happen... no new software installed... Athlon XP 1900+ MoBo Soyo Dragon Plus 512MB 266Mhz DDR RAM GeForceFX 5200@325Mhz core/700Mhz memory Samsung 60Gb 7200RPM HDD

    Cyclic video hiccups

I'm experiencing regular "hiccups" on 3d renders, i.e., the frame rate is great but in every second or so there's a pause between frames, which is very annoying, specially when playing games (I experience this on every 3d game/application I own). I though it might be IDE access coming...

    Screen Anomolies

I've had this issue before... Normally it goes down to defective video hardware or wrong device drivers... are you using the vendor's drivers that came bundled with the card? Can virtual screen resolution exceed actual display resolution?

As far as I know, 2048x1536 is as far as it gets on end-user video cards... You can try using an image viewer software such as ACDSee to view the images as in a virtual display (full resolution, scrollable screen). Don't know if that's what you want, though. Athlon XP 1900+ MoBo Soyo Dragon...

Can virtual screen resolution exceed actual display resolution?

I'm sure you can do it pretty easily on Linux, but I'm not sure your video card is capable of such a high resolution, and you need to have a card capable of it in order to use it, even virtually. I remember using a virtual display resolution on windows, but I don't remember how I got it... I...

My ti 4400 wont work with my computer

You sure have and underpowered power supply, although it shouldn't keep you from booting, it will cause you problems when running games, i guess... TIs are power hungry cards... I assume your new video card has TV-out enabled, so I'd suggest you unplug the monitor and plug a TV on the card and...

    LOADING BOOTRECORD FROM IDE-0...OK

Using a pre-installed OS with a different box is troublesome at times, specially if it is XP. If you have files you don't want to lose on the HD and needs it to be run on your new box, I suggest reinstalling XP while on the new box, it'll keep your settings and files (boot from the CD and select...

Booting crash with XP related to video drivers

Yeah, tried every CMOS setting possible, even the ones I wouldn't advise anyone to do. Upgraded the BIOS and tried all over again, no good again. I'll try and replace the MoBo and see what will happen... I believe that will solve my problem, and since this one used to work fine with Win98, and...

Booting crash with XP related to video drivers

This is what I am trying to avoid, I have no space to back up data right away, and anyway I am deleting c:\windows before installing, so I believe there are no remains of the system files ( I may be wrong, but I believe I am not ) As for the video card, yes, it works, and I've tested 3 other...
