LOADING BOOTRECORD FROM IDE-0...OK

that is what i get when i put my HD in my new box. it has XP on it, the HD runs great on my other PC as far as not encountering any probs. i even reinstalled XP on it while in my old PC,
so i do not have the knowledge to fix this problem.

i have another HD too that i tried to put in and i get a 'NTLDR not found' problem with it.

Any suggestions??

Problem #1 is probably because XP is more hardware sensitive than earlier windows. It will probably take a total reload on the new machine.

It sounds like the hard drive #2 hasn't been prepared for use with the OS. It can't find the stuff it needs for booting.

Any advice I give is my best judgement based on my interpretation of the facts you supply. Help increase my knowledge by providing some feedback, good or bad, on any advice I have given.

Using a pre-installed OS with a different box is troublesome at times, specially if it is XP. If you have files you don't want to lose on the HD and needs it to be run on your new box, I suggest reinstalling XP while on the new box, it'll keep your settings and files (boot from the CD and select FIX or UPDATE or something like that, DON'T let it reformat your system). If you don't need any of the files or configurations, just plain old format it.
Hope this helps.

My aging system:

Athlon XP 1900+
MoBo Soyo Dragon Plus!
512MB 266Mhz DDR RAM
GeForce4 MX420
Samsung 60Gb 7200RPM HDD

thanks guys , i will attempt the reinstall when i get home, i know it could not detect my cd rom for the second HD, which has ME on it. if i could get it to see the cd rom i would reformat that one, the other i do need to save about 11 gigs of music.
i will try it tonight
