DITI should be under the NET gate opener and the message you are getting on the D-Channel sometimes points to barring, check TGAR/TARG or NCOS settings, if you have SIGO set to STD on your RDB then you are not sending your NCOS and the call will pick up the NCOS of the Incoming trunk by default
Firstly, there is no battery on the CPU board. If you mean the small silver object that looks like a battery, thats your Security Dongle which is used to match the system with the keycode. If you remove this the switch will not validate the security and will not work.

CallPilot should run a lamp audit of it's own and update the lamps. Do you have a switchboard or any phones with MIK keys, these can light message waiting leds without the need for mailboxes.

quick answer, check LD 21 RDB for outgoing calls and check FRL to FCR mapping. If FRL 3 - 0 and LD 49 table 0 is barred then calls will fail, set RDB FRL 3 to 9 and this should work. The sets need to be TLD also
