firebirdscambler, do you think you could send me the password for 'sa'? I'd really appreciate it.

    MerMail emulating an Octel?

Has anyone ever heard of a Meridian Mail being configured to emulate Octel commands? If so, do you know if the Meridian Mail is using the Octel commands, does it do something similiar to Express Messaging? Thanks in advance for your help! Brandon

    Tandberg Tape Drive

Does anyone know what the part number would be for a Tandberg Tape Drive on a Meridian Mail if I were to buy it from someone other than Nortel? I've got the Nortel part number but would like to buy the drive from another vendor. Thanks!

Two phones ring at the same time and we can't stop it!

Well from your "yes!", it sounds like you've figured it out. But just in case... It sounds like there's an Answer DN for 212 on extension 211. If you go into programming, you can remove the answer dn from 211.

    Class Of Service Change

Hi, It sounds like you have a NAM (Norstar Applications Module). If you do, you need Norstar Voicemail Manager software on your PC and you have to connect to the unit either through a crossover cable to the NIC card inside or, if it doesn't have a NIC card; through a direct serial connection...

Target Attendant on Star Talk Flash?

mikescience, Very interesting comment about the DID's. This customer does have them and they currently are not set to answer in the AA. I'll have to try that one. Thanks!

Target Attendant on Star Talk Flash?

DRT to Prime is a good idea. I believe right now it's set to 221 (which is the start DN and the DN I don't want zero to go to) But there is a catch to this. In the Star Talk, Table 1 is for Company A (reception 221) and Table 2 is for Company B (reception 230). All the settings in voiecmail...

Target Attendant on Star Talk Flash?

Hi all, I have a new Star Talk Flash and whenever a user's mailbox is reached and the caller presses zero, it goes to ext. 221. The customer would like it to go to a different extension. Does anyone know how to do this? I know on a NAM, each user can assign their own Target Attendant but...

    Guest Mailbox forwarding

Are you talking about external transfer? It would be something like this: When you call the guest mbx, it answers and says, "Thanks for calling. To reach me on my cell phone, press 7" When the caller presses 7, it transfers them to the external number.

How do I set up a new guest VM box??

Well * will always take you back a step in voicemail administration so I wasn't implying that your way was at all wrong. I've always press QUIT and that's worked for me.

Not a paging expert but it could be the Aux. Ringer.

How do I set up a new guest VM box??

Actually, when you add a new mailbox, your first prompt is for the mailbox number. Enter the mailbox # you want to use. The next prompt is for Ext: The third softkey will say QUIT. Press QUIT and it will take you to the next prompt for COS. Pressing QUIT puts nothing in for the extension...

Bypassing long distance restrictions using *67

Phone Man is absolutely correct. I've seen this on Norstar's and I just add *67 to the restriction filter. Then whenever someone dials *67, they will see restricted call come up.

    recording unit for Norstar 0X32

There is no way to turn that feature off in the Norstar NAM. It's there cause in some states you must alert the caller that a call is being recorded. I'm sure Northern doesn't want to get into that whole legal thing! Cintech Prelude and Cinphony ACD's both have a Record Call feature. But...

    Laptop connection to NAM

DueE, Looks like Phone Man's taking care of you but I did want to point out one thing. You should make sure VM Manager is enabled on the NAM. The newer NAM's all come with VM Manager but the older ones required a keycode to enable this functionality. Here's how to check: Press F983 Enter...
