In a previous post I mentioned a client that has a problem accepting our team's efforts without elaborate descriptions as to what we do. This is because the previous IT firm royally goofed in setting up their Notes. This client only uses the email and calendar portions, they had no idea about...
I'm back after a long absence.
I'm currently doing some sideline consulting for a local newspaper. They were put on a "shelf" version of Lotus R5 long before my group of consultants showed up. As a result, we've found a mess, and have been fixing it. Unfortunately, the Office...
I apologize up front if this is a duplication of question. The Tek-Tips search feature is down for maintenance so I've been unable to find anything.
I'm trying helping my buddy Tim on a sticky-wicket case. Tim is a tech-of-all-trades in an IT support company with several small clients.
Tim's...
I was given some testing software last month as a gift from a friend. There might be a cost involved. I'm not sure.
It is from Boson software. The package he gave me includes the following tests: Designer Fundamentals, Application Architecture, Application Security, LotusScript in Notes, &...
Two thoughts on this up front:
1. Possibly your Office97 products were installed after the Lotus Notes, so it was not triggered to install the option for "Enable MS Office 97 SendTo to Notes". I'm not sure if the line can be added after the fact without reinstallation, but I will do...
Did you also go into Lotus Notes via FILE-PREFERENCES-USER PREFERENCES (then the ADDITIONAL OPTIONS list under BASICS) and checkmark the line that reads "Enable MS Office 97 SendTo to Notes"? That might explain why it says the email client is not properly set up.
Otherwise, if it was...
TiburonRacing,
Are the computers they will be using to access this account under their control all the time, or will they be using this occasionally on public computers like say (as a far-reaching example) the public library in Juneau, Alaska?
...on the database or by pulling a new replica.
My information comes from Technote #186501 on www.lotus.com/support. Here is the whole link to the page if you want to read the whole report:

Glad it helped!
In regards to linking with Notes as this thread describes, I've not encountered the message you describe. My files just open. Just a guess: you may be seeking a setting with Internet Explorer, since Lotus does not use the term "save as". Lotus calls this...
Your comment said "NOTES (with the viwer)" Is this in reference to the NOTES browser or perhaps the NOTES with Internet Explorer browser?
If it is either of those, try resetting your browser to just Internet Explorer. To do this, open your NOTES, go to the bottom corner to your...
Excellent information alcanhelpdesk, and a cool tip on the quirky fix, hayes47. I'll file both of these away for future use. Please accept a star each.
I personally have two computers at my desk, both with Notes 5.0.10. One has Office 97, the other has Office 2000. (Had to have this because MS Access 97 and MS Access 2000 screw each other up.) The Office 97 computer does have the line "Enable MS Office 97 SendTo to Notes". The other...
I tried to post here the other day, but Tek-Tips went down once again. -Sigh- I do have a variation to note though.
We had this exact same problem last week. The old webmaster/Lotus Designer had been gone for a year when we discovered a low-maintenance database to which only he had manager...
Assuming you are indeed using Office 97, then try this:
1. Start by opening Internet Explorer, which has settings that you'll need. On the top toolbar, choose TOOLS--INTERNET OPTIONS. At the pop-up window choose the PROGRAMS tab. Under it, set your email to LOTUS NOTES. OK the change.
2. Now...
pmonett is right, the logs are purged periodically. Ours our set for a week, but we only have 400 users on this server. If, like our parent company, you have thousands of users, the purge settings may be reduced.
He's also correct that no subject line is displayed. I've seen two different...
I agree with pmonett/Pascal. It is better that way.
However, as an administrator, I've been called upon by our execs in the past to track messages in cases where someone is suspected of abusing their company-defined email priviledges. (Long story, don't go there.)
I can see that what I am...
Tephane,
Try going to the thread thread73-402930 in this forum. The topic title is "Sending A Link" and was initially submitted by "picklepowder". There you will find an ongoing discussion which should answer your question. The process we were discussing there works in...
Here is an example copied directly from the "Value" line of the Hotspot properties in one of my up-and-running cases. I've tested it both in Notes and Internet Explorer to make certain it works:
\\Pc1280\Switchboard\TELEPHONE LIST.doc
this links to server "Pc1280", folder...
Yep! Use the password recovery system. Here's how:
Have both the user.id you need to crack and your certification ID handy.
In Administrator, go to the Configuration tab. Then go to the Tools feature on the right (if it is displayed) or click on the word "Configuration" in the...
