Try login in via telnet and check if u got the "dtsrc"
subsystem running (u can do this using
"lssrc -s dtsrc " command ), if it is not then try starting it using the command "startsrc -s dtsrc". If it is allready running u can try stopping it...

Yes 'c0t1d0' is your second disk , u can go ahead use the format command and create slices on the second disk ..if they r not allready defined and then u can use the newfs command to create filesystems on those slices.

As far as my understanding goes , i have used the migratepv
command to migrate(ie ..move;u neednot remove the oldcopy) the logical volumes in a PV to another PV
migratepv [-l logicalvolume] sourcePV destPV
But before doing that , i had to make the new PV part of the same...

Check the .profile for the oracle userid , try using
similar settings..i mean the shell , search path etc
for other users also , it should work ,

Then i feel u can try downloading the latest drivers from the compaq's website , it should be a driver issue , i can't think of any other.

Check if the userid logged in has write permissions in /tmp
and his home directory , also check for free space in /tmp ,

Then r u sure that the hardisks r connected properly , i mean i haven't experienced loading Solaris on compaq servers, but just trying to troubleshoot, can u try running diags or try loading WinNT etc , just to check the hardisk's
connected .

Does the install program recognize the SCSI adapter to which the harddrive is connected , if it doesnot detect it in the initial setup process of device detection, then u got to get the drivers for that adapter and configure it before the setup program can access your hard disk.You...

Check if you r able to ping the UNIX box from the command line and if so , then check if u r able to telnet into the unix box..i mean the windows telnet.exe application , if u r not able to then your TCP/IP stack might have some problem. Try removing networking and reloading ethernet...

I also feel the same , u r using a tape which is not supported by the tapedrive , check the capacity of the tapedrive and what tapecartridges it supports.
