rajesh,

Take a look at smitty ssaraid

If you have SSA adapters and disks then yes you can set up RAID 5 and if you have the 4-P adapters and beyond you can look at RAID 0+1 with is striping amd mirroring - this is a whole lot faster.....

Take a look a the following redbooks:

Understanding SSA Subsystems in Your Environment , SG24-5750-00

Once you have found out the type of SSA adapter you have i.e.:

4-P download the relevant manual from:

You first have to check that the state of the hdisk's is "NONE" and that they aren't associated with a volume group.

* you have to declare the disks you want to be RAID5 disks as candidat : smit -> Devices -> SSA RAID Arrays -> Change Use of Multiple SSA Physical Disks,
choose a SSA adapter (Example : ssa0, select the disks with F7 (pdisk0,pdisk1,...) and in front of "New Use" select "Array Candidate Disks"

* To create the RAID5 array :
smit -> Devices -> SSA RAID Array -> Add an SSA RAID array
choose a ssa adapter, the type of RAID Array, put the name of the disks which are candidate, Unable Use of Hot Spares, etc...

That are the only things I have find about in the documents I have and I have never implement RAID5.
I hope it will help you but if not I haven't any other information.
